The book Ecology of a Cracker Childhood by Janisse Ray shows the life of a young girl as she grows up with her family that owns a junkyard in Appling County Georgia. Many experiences may have been different for her, but she still lives as many children do; with rules, and playing outdoors with her imagination.
The main reason that his book was written was to depict the life of a young girl as she grows up in a situation that most do not encounter. She and her brothers spent many hours outdoors playing in the junkyard; they would play baptism where one kid would pretend to be the pastor and the other would be the one being baptized. Sometimes the pastor would leave the baptized under too long. One trait that her father wanted her to have was to be able to play the piano. She hated it so much and eventually told her father that she would not play it anymore. She would rather play outside with her brothers in the junkyard. They would be very creative in what they did with their spare time. They would tie gasoline tanks together and make a raft. She would play with her dolls in the back of the car, pretending to nurse them. She loved pretending she was a mother.
Her father is very smart. He knows how to take old beat up cars off of other people’s hands, even if the car holds a special place in the owner’s heart. Her father loves animals and cannot stand to see or hear that an animal has been tortured or hurt, big or small. He stands up for all animals, a homing pigeon, a dog, a snake, a tortes, a stork, and a turtle.
One time, a turtle was walking across the road. A boy started playing with the turtle with his foot. It was a snapping turtle and supposedly they do not let go until it lightnings. The turtle grabbed a hold of his foot and would not let go. The boy stomped his foot on the ground and broke the poor turtle’s jaw. Soon after the incident, her brothers told her father what had happened. After their father talked with the boy, he turned to his children. He pulled out his belt and gave them all whippings with it. He thought that the could have prevented the incident. If kids were fighting, all he had to do was touch his belt and they would stop immediately.
Another time, her dad found a dog lying on the side of the road. He gave the dog some prescription pills that he had at the house to ease it’s pain even though he believed that it would not survive the night. In the morning, he went back to check on the dog and it was still alive. He nursed it back to health then set it free. He found many animals and all of them he tried to help. He …
Imagination and Creativity! Those are the most critical components behind the popularity of the reality TV show American Inventor. Get inspired by watching on satellite TV as ordinary people turn their ideas into revolutionary new products. American inventor, the name of the show, is a dead giveaway for the general idea – inventions made by American entrepreneurs – but it does not fully explain the whimsical appeal of the show itself. Invention is converted into competition, as 12 Americans, selected from hundreds of entrants, try to make their own invention the best of all.
The format of the show allows for a keen understanding of each personality and project. The group of inventors selected are split up into groups of three, and each show then focuses on one group at a time as the three people compete against one another. Each creator is given a budget of $ 50,000 dollars to optimize their invention â € "an amount that can be plenty or insufficient depending on the techniques and materials involved for each tool, product or toy. prize.
Some sassy Brits are the brains behind American Inventor. It was created by Peter Jones, who participated in a similar version in the UK, and produced by the same people who bought us American Idol, including – you guessed it – Simon Cowell. Their success with other reality shows is evidence enough that this show has got a lot to offer. There have been just two seasons so far, and with any luck they will return with a third season soon.
Theventions on the show range from the weird to the everyday. Some are so simple and unexpected as to be a real contribution to society. A Season One competitor produced a training vest that helps athletes learn to catch a football, particularly aimed at helping receivers. The product is getting an endorsement from Jerry Rice and will actually get manufactured and be available for purchase in the future.
There are other excellent inventions: Who does not want a clip to use when the lock on a bathroom door is broken? And no doubt the world would benefit from a toilet that stopped the spread of bacteria when it flushed. In season two there was a breathtaking invention that certainly deserved to win – a convertible and backless bra made by contantant Elaine Cato. Happily, even without winning it still piqued the interest of several manufacturers and is now sold by Maidenform. That's the beauty of the show – although there is indeed a winner who carries away a cool million in business resources and support, most of theventions are useful and clever enough that they get picked up by big brands and are successfully developed into reality. …
Retail has long been powerful and one thing we know is that there are a lot of different approaches to designing the interior layout of a store. However, there are some common design strategies that all retailers can use, which lead to generating more sales for a business. The interior design of your retail store is an issue we have been seeing recently, in an effort to help merchants become more successful boutiques and thrive in today's digital age. Since tell the story of a brand and create immersive experiences to utilities for the development of showcases and announcements signaling when it comes to retail the important thing is in the details. We want you to have the basic knowledge.
It is a known fact that in America, 90% of consumers when entering a shop turn right unconsciously. The first wall you see is often referred to as " wall power " and acts as a first vehicle high impact that provides a potential to the good in this space, so make sure you give extra special attention in terms of what you choose show. Be sure to arouse the attention of your customer with products that you put on the screen, either new or seasonal elements, high yield or high demand for products, to tell stories of your product and create vignettes.
The threshold area, also known as the " decompression zone " is the first space where potential customers walk when they walk into your store and usually consist of the first five to fifteen feet of space, depending on how great your business. This is also the space where your customers are going to make the transition from the outside world to the first experience you have to offer. They also make critical sentences , like how cheap or expensive is your store, how well coordinated is the site, lighting, accessories, lampshades and colors. Since they are in a transition mode, customers are more likely to miss any product, signaling, or cart to put there.
This can vary greatly depending on the size and overall design of your store, but knowing that your customers want to turn right, your next job is to make sure customers continue walking through your shop to get the maximum exposure of your products. This not only increases the chances of making a purchase, but a well thought out way can be a great way to strategically control the flow of traffic in your store.
Most stores use a circular path starting on the right to reach the back of the store and return to the front. Some will make it even easier, covering the road with different textures, in homage to the old saying " where the eyes go, your feet will follow. " Another thing to consider is that you should use the route to direct your customers to somewhere, which often means putting a flashy ad or screen to draw attention at the end of a corridor, for example. …
Don’t you hate it when you break or snag a finger nail? It’s annoying and dangerous. Anyone that has cut their nose with a rough nail knows this. Don’t even go near your eye – ouch! No file – no problem. I learned years ago how to take care of a rough nail without a nail file. Call me cheap or call me ingenious – I don’t care. My methods work.
It is easiest if you are staying in a hotel to find an alternative to a nail file. And isn’t this when you need a file the most – away from home? It’s hiding in that nice big bathroom that you don’t have to clean. It comes in many colors and many sizes. It always works and will not only cure the rough edges but can help reshape the nail. Shower tiles, or more specifically, the grout between the tiles are nail-wonderful. All you need to do is rub your nail along the grout line and viola – smooth again. You can take the drive-by approach or attend to that snag in the shower – whatever fits your time line. Best of all – you know the shower is cleaned daily. Of course, this works in your own shower if you can’t find a file.
The other no-file approach I find helpful is the underside of desks or stone counter tops. One is wood one is stone. Either will work in a pinch. Usually the tops of both are as smooth as glass. But the bottoms are a goldmine. File away. This will keep you from hurting yourself until you find a file.
Just pick clean places to file your nails. Don’t try these tricks in the subway or in the airplane bathroom. You never know what will work. Remember, you don’t need a nail file to file that nail.…
Until a few years ago, I had never heard of a penis plug. You want me to put What,Where? The thought of putting a piece of stainless steel in my penis hole was horrifying. Stuff is supposed to come out of my penis, not go in! But after a few weeks of my wife’s coaxing, I finally gave in. And I’m glad I did.
Let’s go back to the original question, What is a Penis Plug? A penis plug is a piece of stainless steel that is inserted into the urethral opening for sexual play and stimulation. I need to express right now that, although some men have tried experimenting with objects that you find around the house, it is Very unsafe to use household items. You will also find web sites out there selling plugs made of things like glass or beads, but there is too much danger of breakage. Please only use penis plugs made from stainless steel. Penis plugs are a form af sexual exploration for both men and women. Men are the largest group using plugs, but women are getting into the act, too. Some woman purchase these as a sexual aid for their male partners, but plugs can also be used by women. Women usually require a smaller shorter plug.
Urethral insertables come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some are known as Urethral Sounds, which are straight or slightly curved pieces of steel used to unblock obstructions of the urethra or to increase the size of the urethra. Another type of urethral insertable is the Prince’s Wand. These require a piercing on the underside of the penis. The prince’s wand is inserted into the urethra, then a threaded pin is inserted into the piercing and screwed into the wand. A ball on the wand can be unscrewed for elimination of fluids.
The most popular form of urethral insertable is the Penis Plug. A penis plug does not require piercing and has the largest variety of models. There are solid plugs that are used mainly for urethral play. Your first thought is that it is going to hurt, but quite the contrary. The feeling is very difficult to explain and I’m sure it’s different for every man, but the best way to explain it would be that it is like having an orgasm from the inside out. When using a plug for the first time, always clean your plug and use a good water based lube. Then relax. If you tighten up because you think it will hurt, you will never get it inserted.
Penis plugs can also come with a through-hole, which has a hole through the middle of the shaft. These through-hole models are designed for extended wear and for elimination of bodily fluids. A Glans ring attachment is available to help hold the plug for extended wear. Penis plugs come in a variety of lengths and diameters, so there is one for every penis size. You can get plugs that have …

Glass showers: Glass showers together with other materials make the space feel brighter and bigger. Home owners can also customize the glass shower according to the extra space in your bathroom. Users can further get creative with the shower types, size, and shapes. Contractors usually suggest to install a glass shower with a shower guard to avoid problems like mold, water stains and soap scum buildup.
Tile & Stone: New and original tile work lets the homeowners use the shower area more conveniently. Tile showers add beauty to the bathrooms. You can customize the tile to any décor, shape, size or color and bring depth and creativity to your bathroom.
Walk-in showers: Walk-ins are in style these days. People prefer the exhilarating experience of this stylish innovation over soaking in a bathtub. Whether you install framed or frameless, fully-enclosed or partly enclosed, these shower designs have become popular in bathroom renovations .
Steam Shower: Popularly known as steam bath, a steam shower is where you can sit and luxuriate in the fresh steam all around you. Today, spa bathrooms are not just restricted to affluent homes but can be seen even in small suburban homes. Homeowners can enjoy the comfort and pleasure of warm water vapor right in their homes.
Bench: Placing a bench within a shower stall is a great functional design idea. A bench can be used to place shower items. It can also come handy for people who might find it difficult to stand for long periods of time. Shower stalls made of fiberglass or prefabricated plastic often have built-in benches. However, in a tiled shower granite benches are more preferred.

I have tried multiple approaches to composting and my favorite option personally is to just work the pile on the ground. This seems to work best for me and allows a workout that works for my back. The compost bins and tumblers I have tried are not as convenient for me because they require daily turning and attention which is backbreaking and does not always happen. With my open compost pile on the other hand I am able to turn things with a shovel and pitch fork when it is convenient and I have time for it. if I do it right it is actually a bit of a work out but does not hurt my back like trying to turn a big round tumbler.
The trick behind composting is to research it thoroughly and then make sure you have a good mix of needed ingredients. Generally speaking this means you need Green material, Brown material, Activator and Water. Each of these will play a part in breaking down the waste into dirt and they do need to be balanced. I've found that as long as my pile is not too wet or too full of green material it will never smell bad.
Turning the compost is also important to make sure it gets air and the elements get mixed and chopped as needed. I can give some basic insights to what I have learned about composting here.
Green compost material examples:
• Fruit peels and rotten fruit
• Aquarium water, algae and plants from freshwater aquariums
• Chicken manure
• Small amounts of grass clippings that have not had weed killer in the past 3 weeks
• Plants, flowers, weeds (Do not use weeds that have gone to seed)
• Horse or Cow Manure (horse has more nitrogen but also more seeds of weeds)
• Rabbit or hamster manure
• Egg shells
• Carrot shavings and other vegetable matter
• Leaves and corn stocks or similar material
• Uncolored newspaper
• Cardboard (shredded)
• Paper egg cartons
• Dried vines, potato plants, tomato plants, old legume plants
• Small branches and twigs
Activators are typically your manures and existing compost. I often use my compost from previous years and composting efforts but I have also used Steer manure purchased from a local store for a low price, often around $ 1. Dog food and cat food are also good activators to use when starting your compost pile for your own personal garden. Chicken manure is often some of the best activator and compost material you can get. …
If you have a small place there is no reason to stare at plain white walls. Decorating the walls in a smaller living space is often challenging but makes all the difference when creating a cozy space. No matter how small the room is, if it is warm and inviting, it will make friends and family feel right at home. Here are a few tips to make a room look larger with art wall decals.
Choose the right pattern or theme to create the illusion of a bigger space. There are literally a multitude of themes and designs to choose from when decorating the walls in your place. Choose light-colored backgrounds that match with colors in your decals to coordinate the room colors. For example, nature designs with earth colors of green and brown would look good on a wall painted in tan or butterscotch. Match accessory colors to accent colors in the design to complete the look.
Keep the space open by careful furniture placement. Placing furniture in an open design makes a room look bigger. A simple couch and chair in a matching solid color with an accent rug or small table makes a cozy living area for sitting and relaxing with friends.
Choose a pattern or design of art wall decals to match the color and furnishings of the room. Some people like a nature theme with trees and or a modern Art Deco look with odd shapes or bold designs. Large patterns are fine with minimal furnishings and can become the focal point of the room. Place a couple of lovely decorative mirrors where they will reflect the wall scenes to make it appear as if the scene continues into another room adding to the illusion of more space.
Additional decorating tips:
Let functional spaces do double duty if possible. A bookshelf placed in a corner can double as a place to store small trinkets and knick-knacks without cluttering up the space. The right light fixtures can add depth to a room when placed close to a mirror or other reflective surface, the brighter the light the larger the room looks.
Reasons to decorate with decals:
· Decals are not only stylish and attractive, but create a look that is all your own.
· Economical way to decorate because the designs can be removed when you decide it’s time for a change.
· Create a focal point to draw attention away from problem areas such as uneven walls or oddly-shaped corners.
Wall decorations such as decals, stickers or stencils make a space unique and express the owner’s personal style. They are suitable for just about any room in your home, from bedroom to kitchen; decals are a great way to decorate the way you like. Even if your landlord will not let you paint, there is no reason to have boring white walls when art wall decals are so easy to use and remove when you move to a new place.…
With all the current safety recalls of dog treats, why not make homemade treats for your pet? For those that are concerned about ingredients in the treats they feed their dogs for health, this recipe is a winner! There are only two ingredients, beef tendon and olive oil. Beef tendon is a popular addition to Asian meals and can be easily obtained at your local Asian foods market.
Ingredients & Supplies
You will need; beef tendon, olive oil, a kitchen brush, a good sharp knife, a cutting board, some tin foil and a drying rack/drippings pan combo for the oven. Before you start anything, turn the oven on to it’s lowest possible setting (usually 200F)
STEP 1 – Preparing The Beef Tendon
Tendons naturally occur in pairs. Find the part of the tendon where you can easily pry them apart. Taking your knife, gently fillet the tendons apart.
STEP 2 – Oiling The Tendons
Taking your kitchen brush, lightly coat all the tendons in olive oil. The oil will prevent the tendons from getting overly dry. Place the oiled tendons on the drying rack. Make sure that the drippings pan is coated with tin foil, this will make clean-up easier.
STEP 3 – Baking Time
Place the pan in the middle rack of the oven and let the tendons dry for about 2 hours. The tendons will shrink by about 50% with the drying process.
STEP 4 – The Final Touches
Allow the tendons to cool down for a few minutes and then trim off any excess fat. Cut the tendons into appropriate bite sized pieces for your dog and you’re done! Store these treats in the fridge to prevent spoilage. Shelf life is about two weeks.…
